Some far-left Democrats in Salem, MA want to remove Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) by defeating him in his next primary because the congressman blamed his party’s policies for its devastating defeat in the presidential and Congressional elections. Moulton has specifically said that the Democrats are out of step with most Americans and he expressed his disapproval of biological males playing on female sports teams.
Salem Democratic City Committee chair Liz Bradt compared Moulton to a Nazi for making that observation. She said “several” of the Salem Dems are looking to oppose Moulton in his next primary, The Boston Globe reported. He has served his constituents since 2015 in a Democratic stronghold that encompasses the historic city so associated with witchcraft lore.
Moulton made his comments about boys in girls sports during an interview, saying the Democrats lost the presidency, the Senate and the House because the party is “spend[ing] way too much time trying not to offend anyone.” He went further, saying he wouldn’t want his daughters competing against “male or formerly male athletes.”
The congressman at first limited his comments to criticizing the Democrats for being out of touch with many Americans while they promote their social policies “rather than being brutally honest about the challenges many Americans face,” he said.
“I have two little girls, I don’t want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete, but as a Democrat, I’m supposed to be afraid to say that.” […]
