Democrats are facing a grim reality in Pennsylvania as new data shows a steep decline in mail-in ballot requests, potentially jeopardizing Kamala Harris’s chances in this critical state. Compared to 2020, the Democrats are reportedly down by a staggering 303,016 mail-in requests, while Republicans are only down by 55,033 requests.
This comes at a crucial time for former President Donald Trump, who is set to make his return to the campaign trail in Flint, Michigan, following the recent assassination attempt at his golf club in West Palm Beach. Trump’s surge in Pennsylvania could be the game-changer for his campaign, especially considering he lost the state by only 80,000 votes in 2020.
The numbers paint a brutal contrast: at this point in 2020, Democrats had 1,101,962 mail-in ballot requests, compared to 798,946 in 2024. Republicans, on the other hand, had 376,956 requests in 2020, and now stand at 321,077. The numbers reflect a growing momentum for Trump in a state he needs to win. Cliff Maloney, a GOP figure, wrote on X the importance of this shift, stating that the decline in Democratic mail-in requests could be “suicidal for Kamala.”
