Say what you want about him, but Donald Trump is working his ass off in this presidential campaign, with the Trump-Vance campaign far eclipsing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for public events, media interviews, podcasts, rallies, and fundraisers. A cursory glance at the schedules of each campaign team reveals Team Harris-Walz as remarkably shy, focusing far more on online activities than in-person events.
On the Friday after the Democratic National Convention, Trump rallied in Nevada and Arizona while also recording multiple interviews, including a lengthy conversation with Dr. Phil. Harris had the day off, with her staff briefing in the aftermath of the DNC that she “will keep up a cadence of travel over the next few weeks, but not at the same pace as the last couple weeks when she hit multiple battleground states, the source said, instead spending time in debate prep.”
And while a day off after the convention is not unusual, a week basically off is.
Harris and Walz made some small stops in rural Georgia this week – at a barbecue store, a market, a cafe, and a restaurant. But the scale at which Kamala took over Biden’s campaign – their union member-packed rallies and associated heckles over crowd size comparisons – has simply not endured.
Meanwhile, Trump laid a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery at the invitation of the family members of those who died during Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal.
